Demanding industries utilize specialty materials and alloys with unique properties to provide high-performance solutions to critical applications. By carefully examining the distinct characteristics of exotic materials, we take a process-focused approach that considers specific machining challenges of a given material to ensure components are machined to exact specifications. Marver Med offers a range of CNC machining services for advanced materials.

Titanium Machining

Lightweight yet incredibly robust, titanium offers resistance to corrosion and rust, high strength-to-weight ratio, biocompatibility, and durability. Titanium provides many benefits to medical devices, surgical tools and implants, aerospace components, automotive parts, and more while retaining its properties under normal to severe temperatures.

Cobalt Chrome Machining

Cobalt chrome is comprised of chrome, cobalt, molybdenum, nickel, and other alloys. This material offers excellent strength with resistance to wear and corrosion, however, due to the exceptional hardness, cobalt chrome can be difficult to machine. It lends its high-performance characteristics to medical implants and aerospace components.

Kp / Kn Thermocouple

A common, general-purpose thermocouple, Kp / Kn thermocouples offer a wide operating temperature range. Type-K thermocouples are nickel-based with good corrosion resistance, and they are compatible with a variety of applications in the defense and aerospace industries.

Inconel® Machining

Known for excellent strength at high temperatures, Inconel® is a nickel-based alloy with challenging machineability. It offers resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and high-pressure conditions or pressure changes, making it an excellent choice for critical applications in demanding industries such as aerospace and defense components.

Tungsten Machining

One of the toughest elements found on earth, Tungsten offers a range of material features that are beneficial to many industries. It is versatile and durable, with a low rate of thermal expansion, high corrosion resistance, and the highest melting and boiling point of all known elements. Tungsten is used for precision components in the medical, aerospace, defense, and military industries.

Stainless Steel Machining

Stainless steel is one of the most popular alloys in CNC machining operations due to its material features. It offers a high tensile strength, durability, and excellent resistance to a variety of factors, like cracking or corrosion. This material is available in a range of material grades for custom-machined hardware, electronics, and applications in the aerospace, defense, and medical industries.

Nitinol Machining

A memory shape alloy, nitinol is exceptionally elastic with conductive properties. This material remembers its original shape, which can be retained when heat is applied, and it also demonstrates resistance to corrosion and fatigue, as well as biocompatibility. Nitinol is highly favored for medical implants like bone screws, guidewires, and more.

Plastics Machining

Plastic materials are lightweight, cost-effective, and versatile, providing an ideal machining solution for low-volume production runs, prototypes, and parts with tight tolerances. These materials are highly favored for components in medical and surgical industries, as well as defense and aerospace.
